Richmond Mortgage Brokers
Richmond is best known as home to the Vancouver International Airport. Part of the Greater Vancouver Regional District, it is the fourth largest city within the greater Vancouver area with a population of roughly 190,000 people. Its neighboring municipalities are Vancouver and Burnaby to the north, New Westminster to the east, and Delta to the south. The Strait of Georgia forms the western border with much of Richmond being only 1 meter above sea level.
Richmond has a visible minority population of 59%, the highest in Canada, with more than half of its population being of Asian descent. Richmond is also home to two of the largest Buddhist temples in North America, the International Buddhist Temple and the Lingyen Mountain Buddhist Temple.
According to Statistics Canada, residents of Richmond have the greatest life expectancy in Canada at 83.4 years, along with the lowest obesity and smoking rates as well. This healthy lifestyle must have something to do with Richmond getting 30% less rain than its neighbor Vancouver, allowing more time for outdoor activities. Richmond has an extremely mild climate that very seldom sees snow.
Education
Richmond is home to a campus of Kwantlen Polytechnic University. The British Columbia Institute of Technology also runs its aircraft maintenance courses at Vancouver International Airport. School District 38 Richmond has 11 secondary schools and 38 elementary schools, including eight French Immersion schools.
What Richmond our mortgage brokers are saying:
Richmond is like most other cities in the GVRD, it is growing as a good pace, prices have been increasing very steadily and it is a very desirable place to live, which is why as Richmond mortgage brokers we love the market here. With an average house price around $775,000, it's a difficult market for the first time buyers but a great option for those getting squeezed out of Vancouver.
